Treatment for my final short animation film.

Treatment for my final animation

Title          : F1 Race
Duration: 2 min

Formula One, also known as Formula1 or F1 and referred to officially as the FIA Formula One World Championship, is the highest class of single-seat auto racing. These are high speed cars. The storyline of this animation is a F1 race ending in terrible accident.
The idea of this is how it will look like if a F1 car gets an accident when it’s travelling in high speed on track. There are totally seven scenes in this short animation. First scene, there are 7 F1 cars on track ready to go, waiting for the signal. Red signal change to green, the cars begins the journey to the victory. Since I am planning to give the realistic look, this animation is going to be in 3D.
So the cars are going to be model in 3d software which known as Maya and the F1 track environment going to be model in 3Ds max. As per lectures advice, planned to use some game engines to give the real life speed to the cars so it will look realistic. Some scenes and made to show the speed like placing the camera close to the ground and cars going passing through the camera and the camera shakes a little because of the speed. Creating in 3D doesn’t give the realistic feel. It needs very good composition with multiple passes. So, for the animation I’m going to render several passes individually like ambient occlusion, reflection, lighting, shadow pass and so on. For the transition between the scenes I am not going to use smooth transition because it will distract the speed. For the music perspective I have decide to use the real F1 car sound effects which will suits the animation perfectly.

Finally, in this animation the viewer’s will able to see a high speed car collision from different perspective and from the driver’s perspective too. With real sound effect and able to feel the real accident feel.

Creating Title For short film

Hi again ..... I believe that we are going to gain an awesome experience from the creating title project. And we walk through the very first day already. As you guys know my group we chose The Assassin , Error 37 and Mini Golf. In this three, I would like to prepare for The Assassin first because I kinda like this type of movies. And when the guys did their presentation they mentioned about the gun ( Sniper ) so the sniper is one of their props in the movie. So, I decide to use the prop in the title itself. My idea is, the name sequence will play in one side and in another side I planned to play a video which I'm going to create and the video is about the 3D Sniper assembling animation from small pieces. I have two different ideas for the assembling part and ill show you in a minute. I'm going to give a nice mixture of both of this ideas .

the idea from this video is assembling process of each pieces before it assemble to Sniper.( Not exactly like this FX, but you guys get my idea )


This is my idea based on the second video from the top ( assembling process of each pieces before it assemble to sniper ). Just a rough one for now.

The lighting and the colour tone in the final outcome will look like this.




I will come up with the demo version of it as soon as possible before our presentation . 

And of course this is just my idea and i have to discuss with my other 2 members first before finalise it .

I'm still thinking for the other two movies, i will come up with something for those movies soon as well......

Green Screen Assignment

Hi guys, How are you all ? Nice whether right out there. Well as we all know the Green Screen Project is going pretty good. We are having fun actually in the set in ABC Studio...Its a new environment and of course good experience that we are going through now. When I start thinking and looking for references for what type of futuristic environment that I can provide for the scene, there are so many movies out there, particularly two movies came to my mind which is Iron Man and Oblivion. They do have cool futuristic stuff of course they are advance but I think I can give a try.

Space Ship Modelling

Here i come up with my space ship modelling which i worked on the past weekend. just basic shape is done....now heading to start detailing it...and quite happy with current work because Anthony told that i have a good topology in my model....which i work so hard on topology and i want him to say this when i show him and he did...so im happy. yeay...haha.










These exhaust are rotate able so the ship can land in y-axis.

VFX Class. Scene One Set Up.(Ship Landing)

Here is my First Scene's Concept matte painting and the colour reference image. My environment will be icy environment so i choose some blueish colour tone for my concept .hopefully it will work well with my environment feel.

Setting up my ship landing scene preview

Well here I came up with my 2nd scene preview of my ship landing. Well im not sure whether is my ship moving so fast or my cam or its looks good...I am a little confused and i ll figure that one soon...but here is my today's work on one of my favourite subject from tafe.

As i told before I'm doing Formula 1 racing for my Short Animation Projects. And of my favorite car in formula 1 is the 2013 model Red Bull which we called as RB6. Here is my scene set up is done. And I'm quite exciting to start modelling the RB6.

Camera projection in Maya

I start doing my camera projection for scene set-up with my rough concept matte painting.... I'm facing some issues I guess.....and the zoomerate is not working as well


the issue in here is the camera is not covering the picture fully....i set-up the image fit to film gate and set the camera to fit to fill..... and when i play around with the offset it goes crazy...the pic disappeared ....well I need some help in this......

Our goals must be to make a good short film , not just any short film.

This is for my friends who are doing story based short animation for the year project this is for you guys. I would like to share with you guys about what I read from the book named 3D SHORT FILM PRODUCTION.

It is not enough to make just any short film. Rather, your goals must be to make a good short film. A good CG short must be



  •  Entertaining 
  •  Accessible 
  •  Original
  •  Memorable
The film will be entertaining if you successfully capture and maintain your audience's attention. This is achieved through interesting and dramatic plot structure, story pacing, character development, style, and appeal. These elements must be delivered with an effective combination of anticipating and uncertainty. Each scene and plot beat must have purpose and move the story along by continuing, punctuating, or explaining a previous scene or by introducing, announcing. or anticipating a subsequent scene without giving anything away prematurely. 


Accessibility will be realized if your audience is willing and able to follow your narrative flow. To connect your viewers to your film, the character and events of the story must be believable and at least somewhat related to familiar reality. But keep in mind that while realism is optional, believability is imperative. The progression of your story beats must also be easy to follow or if they intentionally confusing, you must offer some degree of explanation. In a fantasy or a comedy, outlandish scenarios and character need not be explained, but the story must flow with immediate or eventual clarity.


Originality is achieved by introducing unique story, character, or design elements, and your film will be memorable if it inspires some degree of aesthetic appreciation or emotional response from your viewers. At least one of these two experiences must be delivered or your film will be routine and forgettable. 

F1 Race

Here finally I came up with an idea of sequence of accident for my short animation project. Which is F1 race and end up with an accident. I am doing this in 3D and the purpose is I want the animation to look realistic I mean super realistic look and I'm going to use all my knowledge in 3Ds max , after effect or nuke to give the realistic look to my animation.... here is i came up with a rough storyboard and dome of how the animation story going to look like ( Just a rough idea )


 scene 1 : all the cars are ready to race.








 scene 2 : the camera will follow the car ( scene projected from the build
                in camera in the car )






 scene 3 : play around with the camera angle and will cover the
               environment with the cars.





 scene 4 : to show the speed of the car ( passing by the camera ).







scene 5 : the car overtaking another car .







scene 6 : in this scene i want to show the car in close up to show the details in the car to the audience.






scene 7 : Finally the cars get into accident and crash......














 and this is the car that I am going to model and I planned to model it in Maya.


and all this animation i expected to happen for 2 minutes and I'm going to play around with the camera angle and the cars speed to give real life speed .

3D modelling in MAYA..

Here is my concept car and I came up with basic body modelled.... This car is two seater car (front and back) can drive by both person.











































I faced a problem while I'm modelling my car in maya, this weird line appeared suddenly and im trying to fix it but its not really working. any idea guys for fix this issue please ? 























I found double faces in my modelling....I'm not really sure whether to just delete or there is any other proper way to remove it ? so, if anyone know the way removing double faces please let me know guys. thanks.
